On 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟭𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, DICT Region VI – Western Visayas and Innovate Iloilo came together to align initiatives and explore potential collaborative projects aimed at advancing progress for Ilonggos. This strategic meeting, organized by the IIDB DICT-Region 6 Team, focused on updating innovation-related programs, strengthening the 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺, and fostering valuable 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.

The discussion covered key topics such as supporting the online freelancing sector, advancing the IT-BPM industry in Iloilo by gathering crucial data for potential investors, promoting Smart Barangay Initiatives alongside eGov services, and empowering MSMEs through digital transformation.

Mr. Renan Herrera, Executive Director of Innovate Iloilo, shared the organization’s vision and highlighted its seven key pillars, emphasizing how DICT’s programs can contribute to the goal of making Iloilo a Premier Innovation Ecosystem by 2030.

Present during the meeting were DICT TOD Chief – Mr. Jimuel Española, DICT Iloilo Provincial Officer – Engr. John Felix Torino, DTC Focal – Mrs. Relyn Nuñez, eGov Alternate Focal Mr. John Michael Lagos, IIDB Head Focal – Mrs. Vanessa Joy Lagos, and IIDB Focals Ms. Fave Mirasol (Project Development Officer II), Ms. Joanna Marie Vicedo (Project Development Officer I), and Ms. Hazel Apistar (IIDB Project Staff).

This meeting marks a significant step forward in strengthening the collaboration between the two entities to enhance Iloilo’s innovation ecosystem.
