June 25, 2025 – Strengthening Iloilo’s Startup Ecosystem 🚀

Innovate Iloilo is proud to re-share this milestone from our partner, UMWAD Western Visayas.

The Iloilo Province Startup Development Committee (IPSDC) held its first coordination meeting on June 25, 2025 at ISAT U, Iloilo City, officially setting into motion the implementation of the Iloilo Startup Development Ordinance of 2024, authored by Hon. Jason R. Gonzales.

This ordinance, approved through Resolution No. 2025-012, institutionalizes community and academe-based startup development across the province. Representatives from government agencies, LGUs, academe, TBIs, and the private sector actively participated—including DOST, DTI, DICT, PCCI Iloilo, ISAT-U/KWADRA TBI, UPV Coastline 5023, FyrLab Accelerator, the Iloilo Provincial Treasurer’s Office, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, and UMWAD Western Visayas.

The Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion (LEDIP) Center, serving as the IPSDC Secretariat, will lead coordination among members and ensure startup support mechanisms are carried out effectively.

This marks a pivotal step in fostering collaboration, inclusivity, and innovation within Iloilo’s growing startup ecosystem.
